Umd-guest wireless 

The Guest Wireless Network is available for guests to the University of Maryland, College Park. The network:

Connect with an Android device

  1. Tap the menu button, then press Settings.
  2. Tap Wireless and Networks. Tap to enable Wi-Fi.
  3. Tap Wi-Fi settings. Press and hold umd-guest.

  4. Select Connect to Network. Then, Sign in to Wi-Fi Network umd-guest.

  5. If you have guest login credentials, scroll down and click the Click Here button under Already have an account? Otherwise, enter your information, accept the terms of use and click Register.
    • Your email address will become your username, sometimes with a digit added to the end.
    • Your mobile phone number is used to receive a passphrase via SMS text message.
  6. You will see a Self-Registration Receipt with your username, activation and expiration time. Click Login.
  7. An SMS text message with a PIN will be sent to the phone number provided. The message will arrive from clearpass@umd.eduEnter your email address for Username and passphrase for Password.
  8. You may have to wait while the network logs you in.
     As the network logs you in, a countdown is displayed on screen.
  9. You are now connected to umd-guest.

Connect with an iOS device

  1. Press the Home button, then press the Settings icon.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi. If the Wi-Fi is not enabled, tap the Wi-Fi OFF button to enable (turn on). Tap umd-guest from the list.

  3. If you have guest login credentials, scroll down and click the Click Here button under Already have an account? Otherwise, enter your information, accept the terms of use and click Register.

Connect with a computer

  1. Navigate to your wireless network settings icon and click to view available wireless networks. Select umd-guest.
