GlobalProtect Connect Before Logon


Connect Before Logon allows user to connect to the campus VPN before they log into their computer. This will allow them to log into the computer in cases where they haven't connected before or if they have recently changed their passphrase. 

  1. Navigate beyond the CTRL+ALT+DEL page to the login screen and look for a row of icons in the bottom right corner.
  2. Click the GlobalProtect VPN icon based on your operating system.

  3. Enter access.umd.edu in the portal field.
  4. Login with your university credentials on the CAS Screen.
  5. After signing into the VPN, click on the Back button to return to the login screen. You should now be able to log into the computer.
