Unable to share iPad/iPhone screen via wired connection on Zoom for Mac


While hosting a Zoom meeting on your macOS device your participants were unable to see your IOS Device's screen. The participants would see a black screen with the message FirstName LastName is sharing their screen with you.


Zoom for MacOS


Ensure that the IOS device has trusted the MacOS device by tapping on Trust this Computer when prompted on the IOS device. If you are not being prompted, you can reset your Location and Privacy settings in Settings and then try plugging the IOS device into the MacOs device again.

Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset Location & Privacy.

Also, ensure that the IOS devices appear under the Locations section of Finder.


  • The IOS device has not trusted the MacOS device
  • The cable connecting the IOS device to the MacOS device is malfunctioning
