Zoom Meeting Cloud Recordings are uploading to the wrong location


Issue

Cloud recordings of your Zoom meetings are uploading to the wrong location within Panopto.

Environment

Resolution

UMD's Zoom cloud recordings are automatically copied into UMD Panopto. 

  1. Open UMD Panopto.
  2. Select Panopto Campus from the Sign in to Panopto dropdown menu.
  3. Select Sign in button. You will be directed to the Central Authentication Service to authenticate with your University Directory ID and password.
  4. Select your name in the top right corner of Panopto. A menu will appear.
  5. Select User Settings.
  6. Review the settings in the Meeting Import Settings section. 

Depending on your desired outcome, you may need to modify your Default Folder. You can also create mappings for specific Zoom meeting IDs so only recordings from that meeting will be copied to the specified location. You may need to remove a folder mapping if your certain meeting recordings are going to the wrong folder.

Cause

Zoom cloud recordings are copied to UMD Panopto automatically (KB0015859: Managing Zoom Recordings that are Migrated to Panopto Media Hosting). The Meeting Import Settings, within UMD Panopto, control where recordings are stored.
