Find MAC Address on Windows and Apple Computers

The MAC address is a set 6 pair of numbers and characters separated by a colons or dashes. An example MAC Address is 38:f9:d3:53:46:d8

Apple

  1. On your Mac, select Apple menu . A dropdown menu will display.
  2. Select System Preferences….
  3. Select Network. The preference pane will display a list of available network interfaces (examples: Wi-Fi, Ethernet, USB..., Thunderbolt) on the left. 
  4. Select the network interface you wish to know the MAC address of from the list on the left.
  5. Select the Advanced… button. A new window will display.
  6. Select the Hardware tab.
  7. The MAC Address is the first result.

Wired

  1. Open Settings
  2. Click Network & Internet and then Ethernet
  3. In the list of properties, look for Physical address (MAC)

Wireless

  1. Open Settings
  2. Click Network & Internet and then Wifi and then Hardware Properties
  3. In the list of properties, look for Physical address (MAC)
