Schedule and Start Webex Sessions with Cohost, Panelists, and Presenters

Set up a Webex meeting in a Center

  1. Go to Webex and log in with your Directory ID and password
  2. In the default home screen called Modern View, the Meeting Center can be accessed by clicking Schedule. 
    • Training Center and Event Center can be selected from the bottom of the Left Navigation Menu. Clicking Webex Training or Webex Event in Modern View will open the selected Center in Classic View.

  3. Click Schedule a Meeting, Schedule an Event or Schedule Training depending on the Webex format you selected in the previous step.
  4. Fill out the information, then click Start.

Set up a meeting with a cohost

  1. Go to Webex and log in with your Directory ID and password.
  2. Click Schedule from the Modern View home screen.
  3. Enter the name of the cohost in the Attendees field.
    • Names and will generate as you type.
    • You can click a name from this list as it displays.
  4. After the host is listed in the attendee field, click the Make this attendee a Cohost button.

  5. Continue with Starting or Scheduling the meeting.

Start a meeting from your Personal Room

  1. Go to Webex and log in with your Directory ID and password.
  2. Click Start a Meeting from the Modern View home screen.
    • This will launch your Personal Room based on what you have checked under the Start a Meeting button.

  3. Connect your video, audio or both to enter your Personal Room.

Start a scheduled meeting

  1. Go to Webex and log in with your Directory ID and password.
  2. All upcoming meetings are listed on the Modern View home screen. Meetings you are hosting will include a Start button.
  3. Click the Start button to begin that meeting or event.

Grant a participant the presenter role

Assign panelists and presenters for an event or training

  1. Training Center and Event Center can be selected from the bottom of the Left Navigation Menu
    • Clicking Webex Training or Webex Event in Modern View will open the selected Center in Classic View.
  2. Click Schedule Training or schedule an Event.
    • For events, complete the Presenters & Panelist section.
    • For training, use the Presenters section to invite presenters via email.

Build your contacts list

While the Attendees field is linked to the UMD directory, you may want to insert contacts manually.

  1. Log in to Webex using your Directory ID and password.
  2. Click on your name from the upper right of the Modern View home screen.
  3. Click My Contacts from the drop-down menu.  
  4. Click the Add Contact button.
  5. Enter the person's name and email address (Phone number optional) and click Add at the bottom of the page.
