Voice service requests

Each department on campus has a designated Department Telecommunications Representative (DTR) who serves as the primary contact with the Network Operations Center (NOC) and as a telecommunications resource for his or her department. DTRs have received training on the university telephone system, available services, and related procedures. To best meet the needs of each department, all requests for telecommunications moves, additions, changes, and maintenance must be sent to NOC through the DTR. To register to be a DTR, complete the DTR Access Form. All new DTRs will be contacted for consultation and training.

Requests may be submitted by the DTR to NOC electronically at UMD Network and Telecommunications. A request may also be submitted by meeting with an NOC Customer Requirements Analyst. NOC will ensure that all technical details have been considered and issue an order. You will receive an email and a copy of the order, including an Order Number and the estimated due date for the service. Please contact the DIT Service Desk at 301.405.1500 for assistance with filling out a work request, to find out the status of your order, or for other information.
