Yes, the integration will conduct an annual automatic "check" with ELMS-Canvas to verify that instructors and students are still enrolled in the institution's ELMS-Canvas instance. If so, their Lucid accounts will be renewed, again at no cost.
When a student or instructor leaves the institution where they originated their Lucid account in that institution's Canvas instance, their Lucid account will be downgraded to a basic free account. The basic free Lucid account has limited document creation, allowing users to edit the three most recent documents; all others will be view-only. You may keep your Lucidchart account as long as you are a current student, faculty member, or staff member at the University of Maryland, College Park. If you purchase a Premium LucidChart account you will be charged a yearly renewal for the duration of your usage.

New Lucid accounts created through the integration with ELMS-Canvas default to the email tied to the user's ELMS-Canvas account. If users prefer not to associate their account with their current educational institution forever, they can choose to use a different email. To do so, they should select "log in" instead of "sign up" when accessing Lucid in Canvas, create a new account from the Lucid login page, and then return to Canvas to link that account. They must select the free account to receive the ELMS-Canvas upgraded subscription.
When the user accesses Lucid in their new institution's Canvas instance, they can either:

This basic free subscription has limited document creation, allowing users to edit the three most recent documents; all others will be view-only.
