DIT offers a range of software to support teaching, learning, research, and administration. These tools help students, faculty, and staff communicate effectively, collaborate efficiently, and work securely across campus and beyond. Adobe Sign Adobe Sign is an e-signature and workflow tool. It can be used to electronically sign a document.

Adobe Express Adobe Express is an easy-to-use design tool for creating graphics, videos, and documents.
  • Free to use with access to templates, fonts, and design tools.

Adobe Tools Adobe's homepage where you can download and update Adobe tools available to UMD. Sign in with your UMD email.
  • Creative Cloud desktop app to manage your Adobe apps and files, if you prefer.
  • Open and use web-based Adobe apps.
AI Tools Software applications that use artificial intelligence to automate tasks, analyze data, and enhance decision-making.

Canva for Campus Canva for Campus is a special version of Canva created for college and university teams.
GlobalProtect Virtual Private Network Encrypted and secure network connection.
  • Secure remote access to UMD’s internal network.
  • Required for certain systems when accessed off-campus. 
Google Drive Online storage integrated with Google Workspace for Education accounts.
  • Store, organize, and share files across devices.
  • Sync and back up files automatically in real time. 
Google Keep

Google Keep is an easy to use app for creating quick notes, checklists, and reminders.

LinkedIn Learning

LinkedIn Learning is an online platform with professional courses and tutorials to help individuals develop skills and grow their careers.  

Media Studio Services Using this service, UMD faculty and staff can create outreach and instructional multimedia content for the campus community. 
  • Services include, but are not limited to: Video production and editing, scripting, storyboarding, and voiceovers.
  • Submit a video request using the media studio project request form.
Qualtrics A powerful browser-based tool for creating and distributing survey questionnaires and other forms.
  • Qualtrics supports built-in reporting and data export to statistical tools like SPSS and SAS.
  • SMS distribution is available but requires purchasing credits through an IT Support request.
Secure Share Secure Share is a secure file transfer system for person-to-person email communication.
  • Recommended alternative to email attachments containing sensitive information.
  • Supports secure sharing of Level 3 data. 
Technology Training Knowledge Management (KM) offers on-demand training for UMD students, faculty, and staff on IT services.

UMD Box

Cloud-based storage for easy collaboration.
  • Supports the secure storage of Level 3 data.
  • Provides a 500 GB storage allocation. 
Virtual Workspace Virtual Workspace provides a Windows virtual desktop that includes a suite of software applications.
  • Provides access to programs not available on your desktop or laptop.
  • It securely handles Level 3 data.
