Using Adobe Stock and Firefly Generative AI Images

Adobe Stock

Adobe Stock is a trusted source for high-quality visual and audio assets, offering clearly defined, perpetual, worldwide licenses that ensure legal use across all media platforms, including print, digital, broadcast, and social media. Unlike assets found freely on the internet, Adobe Stock content comes with comprehensive usage rights, minimizing the risk of copyright infringement and supporting compliance with institutional standards.

  1. Go to Stock.Adobe.com
  2. Click Sign In in the upper right-hand corner
  3. Log in using your UMD email address. You will be directed to CAS to verify your login.

    NOTE:
    Do not attempt to sign in using the other options, as those accounts will not be cleared for use.

  4. Once logged in, click Free on the toolbar at the top of the screen next to the search bar.
    • UMD accounts have unlimited access to assets in the Free section.
  5. Search for your desired content.
  6. Click the item you would like to license.
  7. Click License
    • Your file should then be located in your computer's Downloads folder.

Adobe Firefly

Adobe Firefly is a generative AI app that creates commercially safe images, audio, and videos. Adobe Firefly is designed to prevent the creation of content that infringes on copyright or intellectual property rights. To access Adobe Firefly with your UMD account, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to firefly.adobe.com.
  2. Select Sign In.
  3. Under Continue with email, click Sign In.

  4. Enter your UMD email address. Click Continue.
  5. Enter your UMD Directory ID and Passphrase in CAS. Click Log In.

Generative credits

With a UMD account, you receive 1500 monthly generative credits. You can track it by clicking on your account profile in the top right corner. Each generated image or video costs one credit. Check out the Adobe Firefly FAQ on Adobe's website to learn more.
