Our upgraded network now supports wired port speeds of 2.5Gbps and 5.0Gbps, enabling faster connections. Achieving these enhanced speeds is possible by using a USB 3.0 or USB-C Ethernet dongle connected to your computer. DIT has tested a selection of these dongles, and detailed results are provided below. Performance may vary based on factors such as your computer hardware, the network cabling in your building, and your proximity to network switches. While most users will experience significant speed improvements with a 2.5Gbps dongle, the additional jump to a 5Gbps dongle may offer less noticeable gains. For the best results, consult the test results and choose a dongle suited to your needs.
