Connect Google Calendar to WebEx


WebEx calendar notifications are beneficial to the native Google Calendar notifications because they bring a pop-up reminder over all open applications on the desktop screen while Google Calendar notifications bring a dot (.) symbol on the Google Calendar web browser tab which is visible if the web browser window is not covered by other open apps.

  1. Login to your WebEx account and click on the Calendar tab in the left navigation menu and click Connect.

  2. On the next screen, select Google Calendar and click Connect.

  3. The wizard will bring a web browser; login to your UMD email account and click Allow.
  4. Check the box for Always allow ...... to enable permission, click Open, and then click Copy and Send to WebEx.

  5. Click Got it on the next WebEx pop-up.
  6. On the next screen, select Settings (gear icon) from the left side menu.

  7. In the left navigation pane, click the down arrow next to Notifications, then choose Meetings from the drop-down menu. Set up your preferences by selecting the appropriate circles or checkboxes on the right side of the screen and click Save.

  8. Prior to a scheduled meeting you get a popup in according to the advance notification setting chosen in the Settings. Click Join, and even if a Zoom meeting is used, the WebEx calendar reminder will connect you to the Zoom call scheduled.
