NOTE: The migration of projects from the UMD REDCap INSTANCE to the UMB REDCap INSTANCE was completed on February 21, 2025.
To learn more about REDCap services available to UMD, see the Access and Use REDCap article.
Navigate to Project Setup at the bottom of the page, you can select Move to Production if the project is actively collecting data. If you are finished with data collection, the Project can be moved to Analysis/Cleanup via Project Setup and then Other Functionality. You can also export projects or delete them from this system menu.
The purpose and PI contact information can be updated via Project Setup then select Main Project Settings and then Modify project title, purpose, etc. If a project is marked as Practice/Fun, it will not be prioritized for migration to the new system.
The Project can be deleted via Project Setup then select Other Functionality and then Data Management.
If you no longer need access to your Project in REDCap, you can download project data and an XML file containing your project configuration from your existing REDCap projects and store those for analysis or data retention purposes. Exports can be accomplished via Project Setup, select Other Functionality and then Copy or Download or Backups the Project.
The recommended storage location would be a UMD Box Folder that is part of a Box Group Account. This will ensure the data is not lost in a situation where an individual leaves the university and their account becomes inactive.
You can delete users on your projects that are no longer involved by going to your My Projects tab and clicking on the User Access Dashboard.
This dashboard provides a summary look at Projects in the UMD REDCap system and whether they have been migrated, are in progress, or are planned to be deleted.
The REDCap admins will migrate project instruments and data into the UMB REDCap. Admins will coordinate directly with PIs to finalize the process based on Project status and data collection timing.
Details will be added in the next several weeks.
