This guide will provide assistance with removing/deleting an individual or group of assets in Rapid7's InsightVM during your offboarding process when decommissioning assets. Ongoing maintenance of the asset inventory in InsightVM is a responsibility of the respective IT groups. 

NOTE: Prior to deleting asset(s) from InsightVM, please make sure they will be fully decommissioned. Assets are both physical and virtual.

1. Navigate to your site in the InsightVM on-prem console.

   

2. Scroll down to your list of assets on the site profile and identify the assets that have been decommissioned.
3. Tick the box next to the IP address(es) of that assets that need to be removed, then click delete assets.
   NOTE: Do not select remove asset from site button, as that will retain vulnerability information in the platform. 
   
4. Verify that the asset(s) have been deleted from your site.
