Instructure, the vendor of the Portfolium tool, has announced that the option to select Google Drive directly as an upload location in Portfolium (Canvas Student e-Portfolios) has been discontinued as of June 10, 2024.
Any files previously uploaded via Google Drive will not be affected and will still be accessible via Portfolium.
After June 10th, users will have two options to upload a file that is saved on Google Drive:
- Download a file from Google Drive to the user’s computer, then upload the file to Portfolium.
- Map Google Drive as a local drive on the user’s personal computer desktop, and then choose this location when uploading the file.
NOTE: Users also have the option to paste a link to a shared Google document in their drive (the Paste a link option; ensure that appropriate share permissions are granted to the file).
Please be aware of this change when choosing to upload a file, and select the way to upload or share your files accordingly.
