Connect to eduroam on an iPhone or iPad (iOS)


Already on campus?

If you are already on campus, you will need access to the internet to connect to eduroam. You can run SecureW2 by connecting to the umd-guest wireless network from the list of detected wireless networks. You may also consider using your phone's cellular data to connect that device or set up a personal hotspot to connect on computers and tablets.

Run SecureW2 to connect to eduroam

  1. Open the Safari browser in your Apple mobile device and tap this link to begin the connection process
    • Safari is required for this process.
  2. Click the red Sign In button where you will login using your UMD credentials.

  3. Click red Install Now.

  4. Tap Allow on the notification stating This website is trying to download a configuration profile. Do you want to allow this?

  5. Tap Close on the Profile Downloaded notification.
  6. Open your device's Settings. Look for the gear icon ""
  7. Tap Profile Downloaded under your name and iCloud settings.

  8. Tap Install at the top right of the Install Profile screen. You may need to enter your device passcode.

  9. Tap the Install button at the bottom of the Installing Profile screen.
    ""
  10. You can now connect to the eduroam Wi-Fi on your iPhone or iPad.
    • Tap Done in the top right of the screen.
    • Tap < Settings in the top left of the screen.
    • Tap Wi-Fi.
    • Select eduroam from the list of networks.
