Lucid for Education is a cloud-based platform that provides visual collaboration tools, specifically Lucidchart and Lucidspark. These tools help users create flowcharts, diagrams, mind maps, and wireframes as well as collaborate in real-time on brainstorming sessions and strategic planning. Faculty, Staff, and Students with an @umd.edu email address or Associate Account can access Lucid in ELMS-Canvas.
Lucidchart and Lucidspark are integrated into ELMS-Canvas and can be used in Assignments and Pages. Select Lucid (Whiteboard) in the lefthand vertical course navigation menu of your ELMS-Canvas space in order to initiate the process of creating your Lucid account.
To initiate the creation of your Lucid for Education account, follow the directions provided on the How do I set up the Lucid Education Suite in my course? webpage. When prompted, select the blue "Sign Up" button rather than the white "Log In" button. Then, select the "Google" button depicted in the image below:
After you have successfully logged into the Lucid application via ELMS-Canvas once, you will be able to log into lucid.app directly when you wish to use Lucid outside of ELMS-Canvas. When logging into lucid.app, use the Google button and provide your @umd.edu email address or Associate Account email address.
