Bulk delete Google photos and empty Trash

Issue

How do I bulk delete Google photos?

Environment

Google Drive.

Resolution

  1. Scroll to the first photo in Google Photos.
  2. Hover over the first photo so the checkmark displays and select the checkmark.
  3. Hold the Shift key on your keyboard.
  4. While holding the Shift key, scroll to the most recent photo and select it. All photos should now have a blue checkmark in their top left.
  5. Select the trash can icon in the top right.
  6. Select Move to trash to confirm. The photos are now in your Trash.

NOTE: Google photos stay in Trash for 60 days. You should empty your Trash after deleting to reclaim your storage space. Data in your Trash counts against your storage limit.

  1. Select Trash in the Google Photos sidebar.
  2. Select Empty trash.
  3. Select Empty Trash to confirm.
