Can not open files in Google Drive app / Network drive on Windows 10

Issue

I am getting an error when trying to open a file from Google Drive desktop app or Network Drives.

Environment

Google Drive Desktop App and Network Allocated Storage/Drives.
Windows 10.

Resolution

We have come to the conclusion that the path name to the locations of the files were too long for applications to locate and open. Upon shortening the path by using less sub-folders and shortening the name of folders and files, the files opened properly in respective applications. We recommend to abbreviate the titles of your folders and try to use less subfolders to categorize files. This will shorten the file path's character length and should allow you to work as normal.

Cause

This issue seems to stem from the length of the file path exceeding 256 character.
