Download and Install SAS from Terpware onto a Windows computer


Follow these instructions to install the SAS software from TERPware onto your Windows computer.

  1. Navigate to SAS (Academic Use) on TERPware. Download all listed files.
  2. Once download is finished, extract the files from the .zip. SAS is very large so this may take a while. Do not close the file explorer and do not turn off your computer while files are extracting.
  3. A new folder with SAS in its name, reflective of the package title in TERPware, will be created. Open it, then go to the SAS_20250717 folder and launch setup.exe. This will open the SAS Deployment Wizard.
  4. Allow SAS to make changes to your computer. Select Install SAS software. Then, click Next.

  5. Select Install SAS Foundation and Related Software. Click Next.
  6. Default products will be selected. Keep the default selections. Click Next.
  7. Select 64-bit Native Mode. Click Next.
  8. Select SAS Foundation products to install then select Next.
  9. Under Specify SAS Installation Data File, select Browse, and select the .txt file that you previously downloaded from TERPware.
  10. Click Open.

  11. Select the languages you wish to install and click Next.
  12. Keep default selection SAS Foundation. Click Next.
  13. The SAS Document Conversion Host and Port screen will appear. Do not change the Port Number and click Next.
  14. Click Start at the bottom of the window.
  15. After installation finishes, click Next, then click Finish
