Google Cloud Platform offers a variety of Learning Resources available for users of GCP. This document highlights some of those resources currently available for UMD researchers, faculty, staff and students.

Google Cloud Computing Foundations Curriculum

The Foundations Curriculum is specifically free to Higher Education customers. It is intended to provide assets for faculty to include in their classes, but they can use it for themselves and their student research teams. This leverages Qwiklabs and includes slides with lecture notes, Instructor Guides, Lesson Plans, and Assessment Questions.

Google Cloud Career Readiness Program

The Google Cloud Career Readiness Program is intended to be a faculty-coached 16-week program for students resulting in industry-recognized Google credentials. There are two tracks available:  Data Analytics and Associate Cloud Engineer.

A Cloud Guru formally known as Linux Academy offers an extensive catalog of Google Cloud Platform courses. A Cloud Guru offers both Individual and Business subscriptions.

Google Training Credits

Google offers Training Credits for Faculty, Students, Staff and Researchers on their Google for Education link. By submitting an application, You have the opportunity for free online courses from Coursera and self-paced labs from Qwiklabs. Please note that these credits expire one year after they are issued.

UMD Developers Tool

Google codelabs provide guided, tutorial, hands-on coding experiences. Most codelabs will step you through the process of building a small application, or adding a new feature to an existing application. They cover a wide range of topics such as Android Wear, Google Compute Engine, Project Tango, and Google APIs on iOS.

UMD Skills Training

UMD students, faculty, and staff have free access to LinkedIn Learning, formerly known as, an online learning service that can help professionals learn software, design, and business skills to achieve their personal and professional goals. Click the link for more GCP offered training.
