Can I Connect to a Wireless Printer in my Residence Hall?

Wireless printers are not supported for use in the Residence Halls.  The University of Maryland uses WPA2-Enterprise Authentication, which most printers do not support.  Even if your printer supports the WPA2-Enterprise authentication standard, there is no guarantee that your wireless printer will be placed in the same segment (subnet) of the wireless network as your other wireless devices, which means they will not be able to print to your printer.

If you are bringing a printer to the residence halls, please make sure you can directly connect that printer to your computer. For more information on printing outside of the dorm visit Pay-for-Print Service Transition Announcement.
