What is LinkedIn Learning?

LinkedIn Learning is an online learning service that can help UMD faculty, staff, and students learn software, design, and business skills to achieve their personal and professional goals. 

How does the transition from to LinkedIn Learning affect me?

UMD migrated to the LinkedIn Learning platform on July 15, 2019. You can log in at LinkedIn Learning and follow the prompts to sign in with the organization account. Use your UMD credentials to access LinkedIn Learning and your viewing history, completed and in-progress training, certificates, and playlists. NOTE: If you have used UMD in the past, you need to login to LinkedIn Learning by March 31, 2020 in order to preserve your course history.

How do I access UMD LinkedIn Learning?

LinkedIn Learning can be accessed through with your UMD credentials.

Who can use UMD LinkedIn Learning?

LinkedIn Learning is only available to current UMD students, faculty, and staff at the College Park and Shady Grove campuses.

Where can faculty, staff, and students use LinkedIn Learning?

I am an alumni/affiliate/associate, can I use LinkedIn Learning?

Alumni, affiliates, and associates are not permitted access under the current contract.

How long will I have access to LinkedIn Learning?

You can log into LinkedIn Learning as long as you are a current UMD student, faculty, or staff member.

Can I take a certification class through my university account?

You can earn LinkedIn Learning certificates of completion when courses are completed, but there are no official certification programs at this time. How often are there updates and new course offerings?

Typically between 5-8 courses are added each week.

What technical support is available for UMD LinkedIn Learning?

What are the system requirements for using the UMD LinkedIn Learning service?

I have a LinkedIn Learning account. How can I transfer my profile to a UMD LinkedIn Learning account?

Contact the LinkedIn Learning Customer Service for assistance. You will need the following information: LinkedIn Learning user login information, University Directory ID, and your 9-digit U ID Number.

We have university sponsored LinkedIn Learning accounts; can we get reimbursed for the paid account?

Yes, contact the Call Center for assistance with reimbursement.

I have a personal UMD LinkedIn Learning account; can I get reimbursed for the paid account?

Yes, either contact LinkedIn Learning Customer Service or call 844.587.5735. You may need to provide the following information: LinkedIn Learning user information, University Directory ID, and your 9-digit UID Number.
