The UMD Campus Webmap application can be used to locate and find information about campus buildings, transportation, current construction, and many other campus features. Here are some features on Webmap that are being worked on:

• While the map will load on smart phone and tablet devices, it has not been optimized for smaller screen sizes or for touchscreen interaction.
• Not every layer featured in the map draws at all scales (zoom levels). The symbolization of these layers may also differ at various scales. This is intentional.
• Certain features appear differently in different web browsers. Some features may not be fully supported by all browsers.

Internet Explorer versions 8 and 9:

• HTML5 effects do not work (including text shadow effects, place holder text in search boxes, etc.).
• Shuttle-UM zoom-to bus location does not work.
• Network based location can result in the user being located miles away from his actual location!

Internet Explorer versions 8, 9, and 10:

• A downloadable plug-in is required to view webcam feeds.
• Basemap Option Considerations:
• Google Imagery is only available down to ~1,000 scale, whereas all of our other basemaps are available at one additional zoom level for the University of Maryland (UMCP) campus area. This may cause some confusion for people zooming in too far away from campus or when they are using the Google basemap option.
• The Google Imagery basemap is not compatible with Esri printing services.
• The overview map window at the bottom of the side menu does not support Google Basemaps.
• All printing requires that pop-ups are enabled in the user's browser settings.
• For building-to-building navigation options, accessible routing provides paths that avoid stairs and crosswalks with un-depressed curbs. Slope / sidewalk grade analysis has not been factored in. Additionally, some buildings may not be part of the current connected pedestrian network or only feature a shortest route and not an alternate accessible pathway. We will be addressing all of this in future releases.
• Other known quirks:
• Network-based user location can place people near the wrong building depending on their department's network domain on campus (e.g., your department's domain is physically located in Tydings, but you are physically located in Woods, the network-based location may still place you in Tydings).
• Pressing Enter for building or parking lot search rather than clicking the Search icon or returned results list does not highlight the feature in the map.
• Clear map graphics in the Tools section of the menu permanently removed the yellow flashing user location graphic. This can be restored by reloading the page.
